The "Charles" traveled from Norfolk, Virginia, to Monterey (5 July - 16 December 1847), Honolulu to Hong Kong (8 March - 10 April 1848), Canton to New York (26 January - 15 June 1849), and New York toward Boston (30 September - 11 October 1849), commanded by Thomas Andrews, master. The logbook records weather conditions and coordinates. The first two voyages were written by one person, the third voyage was logged by two different people (3-15 June 1849 signed by Thomas A. Harris, mate), and the fourth voyage entries' author is unknown.
